Introducing the Content Claiming Portal, a new tool to help creators claim their content and decide how it appears on Pinterest
Today, Pinterest is introducing its Content Claiming Portal as a brand new tool that enables creators to claim their content and decide if and how it appears on Pinterest.
We’ve heard from creators that they want more control over where their content appears, including the ability to remove existing and future versions of their content, and we want to help enable that control.
Pinterest has always been a way for creators, brands and publishers worldwide to feature their content and build value. Pinterest is designed to drive traffic back to the original creators who are benefiting from having new global audiences discover their work.
Recently, we’ve been working with a select group of invited content creators to make it even easier to claim their content and control how it appears on Pinterest. Based on feedback from this group of creators, we will continue to iterate and improve the portal.
To get started, content creators can submit a Content Claiming Portal application, and if your application is approved, you’ll be able to upload your original content and select from one of the following enforcement options:
- Mine only: Remove existing and future versions of the images from Pinterest, except Pins originally saved by me.
- Website only: Remove existing and future versions of the images from Pinterest, except Pins that link to my claimed website(s). (This option will only be available if you have a claimed website.)
- Block all: Remove all existing and future versions of these images from Pinterest.
Once a rights holder uploads a particular image, they can tell us whether they want to allow that image to appear on Pinterest. If they choose to block the image, we will remove any matching images that we are able to identify.
Each month, more than 450 million people around the world come to Pinterest to look for the ideas, products and services to help them create a life they love. Content on Pinterest is essential to this ecosystem and one of our top priorities is to continue to work with creators to make Pinterest the home to the most inspiring, inclusive and actionable content.
The Content Claiming Portal is now available for a select group of invited content creators around the world, and we are working to expand availability to more creators. You can learn more at our Help Center.
