Introducing the Today tab in Australia to Celebrate NAIDOC Week

Next week marks the beginning of NAIDOC (‘National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee’) week in Australia with celebrations to recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To mark the occasion, Pinterest is launching the Today tab in Australia, which will feature inspiring content from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Creators, businesses and artists. Additionally, we’ll be launching the Pinterest Shop in Australia and spotlighting indigenious owned businesses to make it easier for Pinners to discover and shop their products.

Starting November 8th, Pinners will be able to discover daily inspiration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on the Today tab. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Creators, businesses and artists including Magabala Books, Krae Designs, Gammin Threads and Ascension will be sharing ways to be inspired by and celebrate their culture. While the home feed continues to show personalised recommendations, the Today tab will show popular and inspirational ideas based on what's going on in the world and trending searches. To see the Today Tab, Just click “Today” at the top of your home feed from your iOS or Android app for new ideas each day.

Pinterest, in partnership with ANKA, is also launching Northern Indigenous Renaissance, a virtual exhibition curated onto Pinterest boards on the ANKA profile with artworks and images from art centres across northern Australia including Babbarra Designs, Durrmu Arts, and Ngukurr Arts. All art centres featured are supported by Arnhem, Northern and Kimberley Artists (ANKA) Aboriginal Corporation, peak support and advocacy body for Aboriginal artists and Aboriginal owned community art centres.
