With more than 4 billion travel ideas saved to millions of boards, Pinterest is the place to find inspiration for all of your winter travel experiences. And it seems that Pinners are starting to choose more adventurous travel. Searches for “adventure travel” have increased by 556%, while "solo travel" searches have remained flat. Below are this year’s top winter travel trends and destinations.

It’s engagement season! Every year, searches for engagement ideas increase an average of 40%² from June to January. There have been more than 111 million searches on Pinterest related to engagements, from proposal ideas to rings and photoshoot ideas. Our fave trend this year? Women are turning the tables and looking for inspiration to do the proposal themselves (+336%).

Photoshoot ideas: no "delete that!"

Why be so serious? We’ve seen an increase of 586% in “humorous engagement photos”

Pinners want to include the aesthetic of the seasons by dressing in flannel +630%, setting the scene on a fall beach +224%,or accenting with a Christmas tree +153%

Some like nature, some like city life. Mountain engagement photos are up 320%, while some are heading to San Francisco for their special shoot (+196%)

Just because you’re a busy parent doesn’t mean your New Year’s Eve has to be planned around the ball drop. This year, ring in 2019 with the perfect daytime party for you and your littles. Who needs to wait until midnight? Searches for “noon year's eve party for kids” are up 132% on Pinterest as parents look for ways to create the perfect kid-friendly celebration.
